Great Experience in Montreal, They asked for some photos and I had to get another RCMP records search as the one I had was the wrong type.

Quick and Efficient. The appointment was at 7:45 - showed up 5 minutes early for my timeslot, plenty of time, the guard was well on top of things, and he was amazed there was a group there waiting for their 8 am appointment out in the cold, he encouraged them to go get a coffee and come back, but they were fine to wait in the cold.

Admittedly I came over prepared - I had my own copies of everything that I printed off, more tax details than my spouse I needed, the full i-864, etc.

Ultimately they only asked for the originals of my Wife's W2 (We used an i-864EZ), my birth certificate, our marriage certificate, and my police certificate. Also requested were the Pictures and my Passport.

That first process was about 5 minutes after I sat down. My interview was about 15 minutes later and Approved after the standard questions. I did add my daughter's CRBA during the interview. I was there for less than an hour.

I was approved on the... read complete review

We had a pleasant experience overall with the consulate. My husband had his interview on December 22nd, 2023. The interview went well and the officer was polite and asked my husband a few questions before letting him know he would put our case into administrative processing. We received a 221G white slip and were asked to send his passport in. My husband sent his passport the next day, on December 23rd, and it was received on December 27th. I emailed the consulate on January 8th, 2024, inquiring about the case status, and on January 22nd, I received a response stating our case was "pending final review by a consular officer."

By chance, I checked the visa status on January 30th, and the visa had been issued! On Feb 1st, my husband received his passport with the visa stamped in it, crossed the border the same day, and is currently on his way to me in Nevada!!

** I will say this has been a slightly stressful experience for us both. My husband was not allowed... read complete review

I had my interview at the consulate in Montreal just a few days ago. The process went smooth and pretty fast. My time was quite early in the morning, and I showed up 5-10 mins prior to the given time. A security officer waved me in to the building and I gave my passport to another and was given 2 number slips. I went through small security and put my phone in a locker. You take the elevator to floor 1 and are put out into a waiting room with chairs to sit in open to the booths you’ll be called to by number. I sat and waited for my number to appear on the screens. I waited around 20 or so minutes before I was called to a booth and was asked for my original marriage certificate, original longform birth certificate, my husband’s (sponsor) tax returns, my police certificate, and my 2 passport photos. The officer then stated my address and my husband’s address in the States and asked if those were correct. He also then asked if our phone numbers were correct. He hung on to my marriage... read complete review

I had my interview in early January 2024 in Montreal for my IR-1

1. Do not come earlier than 5-10 minutes, it goes by appointment time, I stayed outside for 45 minutes and froze myself

2. Don’t bring laptop bags or any big bag!

3. The pre-interview checks your documents, these are the ones I was asked
Marriage certificate
RCMP police clearance ( I had a peace bond for assault on it back in 2009)
Passport photo ( they give it back to you after scanning it )
Birth certificate

4. The interview was very simple, few questions about my partner. We did our applications through assets since my sponsor doesn’t work. No issues
I was asked how did we meet, when did we meet and that’s it … passport came in the mail 7 days later with the visa on it
